Could the dialog just have been incidental to a Google Backup and Sync update or sync, and it just so coincidentally happened that it popped up as I was browsing. I remember roughly the timestamp when this occured. I ran MalwareBytes and it came back clean, and nothing strange has happened with my computer so far.

To the extent of my knowledge, I did not install anything from browsing that site nor did there appear any dialogue where I had to enter my system password but could I have been infected just from streaming videos from the site? Is this a possible Malware installation? Unfortunately it happened so quickly I didn't think to take a screenshot. I was on a sketchy site last night (you know how it be) and while I was browsing, a system dialog popped up with a progress bar with something to the effect of "verifying file Google Backup and Sync" (I do have Google Drive and Backup and Sync installed).
